    Baking my own wedding cake

I’m not normally a huge baker, but if there’s one cake I’m going to make, it would be my wedding cake. After one practice run for a friends’ miniature birthday cake. I rolled up my sleeves 48 hours before my wedding, and took out the beaten up hand mixer. Yes, that’s right, I also don’t…

    Cake therapy!

I was obsessed with the idea of baking and decorating a three tiered semi-naked cake. These obsessions tend to creep up whenever looming deadlines are in view. This time was no exception. I was dreading an upcoming exam.

    Happy holidays

    staycation blue crab feast

Fall crabs fill my childhood memories with their savoury, cholesterol filled, mouth watering roe. My dad grew up by the water loves to eat crustaceans. As I kid i modelled myself after him and acquired the skill to crash shells and get to the meat early on.

Taco station! Inspired by La Carnita @ John St

I like putting together taco stations either for myself or with company. It’s such a fun and interactive way of enjoying a meal. It’s simple to throw together last minute with fresh pick de gallo, 1-2 proteins (saffron squid and chicken liver), corn tortillas, topped with sautéed onions, mushroom, fresh onions and avocados!

    eat street istanbul

Halva, baklava, turkish lights and countless nameless treats, who would have thought Istanbul, aside from its cultural charm, is streeteats central. After enjoying one or two deliciously prepared middle eastern breakfast buffets, Lucy and I abandoned it in search of iconic Turkish street eats.
